San Clemente, CA

Travis and I had a wonderful Labor Day Vacation with his aunt and uncle in San Clemente, CA! We layed on the beach, surfed some waves, went to the UCLA vs. San Diego State football game at the Rose Bowl. We also bought new Rainbow flip flops from their headquarters and just overall enjoyed the beauty and feel of the California weather.

Happy & Sad

This weekend was both a happy and a sad one. The happy note was that my friend Jen Bergmark came to town. It was so great catching up with her and her life in Cali.

The sad news was that Travis and I attended our good friend Stephanie's good-bye party. Stephanie will return someday, but right now she is needed in Boston for grad school.

Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

As you can tell from the photos - we had a blast camping in Yellowstone! How can you not? The scenery was breathtaking, the animals were adorable and the company couldn't have been better.

TIMBER!!!

Last weekend we visited Travis' family in Show Low to assist with chopping wood. Travis' grandpa hurt his rib so we wanted to help him with the trees. Cutting down trees for firewood is an amazing task. You start by finding trees that are already dead and then you chainsaw them down. Once they are down you chop them into large logs. Once in logs you then use a wood chipper to turn them into firewood pieces. It is a huge and heavy job and I can not believe that Opa has done this every year on his own. AMAZING!

Michelle's 26th Birthday at Donovan's

For my sister's 26th Birthday we went to Donovan's Steak and Chophouse for an incredible dinner and some great family time. It was really fun getting dressed up and celebrating!

Candace Cameron - What a blessing!

Sunday at Cornerstone Christian Church we had the pleasure of hearing Candace Cameron (DJ Tanner - Full House and sister to Kirk Cameron - Fireproof) speak about her faith. It was fabulous. Both Candace and her husband Val spoke about how they became Christians in a celebrity environment. It truly was encouraging to hear their story!
