Prescott with Tricia

Tricia is an incredible friend!  After saying goodbye to my hubby at the airport, the two of us went on a weekend getaway to Prescott.  It was so nice to not have to go home to an empty house.  Instead we shared fun girl time in cooler weather.
Tricia : Thanks for everything.  You always remind me how important it is to treat everyone with love & compassion!!!

The Alaska Departure

I can not believe the day has arrived!
Travis has been talking about this hunt for years.  God has provided the time & means for him to go, and we are so excited!  18 days in the Alaska wilderness - every hunters dream.
As his wife, I must admit how proud I am of him.  He has been so dedicated in preparation.  I can't lie, 18 days without communication will be tough, but nothing we can't handle.  I feel at peace, God has blessed us and I know he is in control.  Travis is going to have a fabulous time with the guys.
~~~
The Guys : (Travis, Harold, Bill - his dad, Steve)
The big departure!  They have all of their gear & they are ready for Alaska.
Travis: You have an amazing adventure ahead of you.
Enjoy every minute of it and remember God has a plan!
Love you! JW
Pre-Alaska Buzz Party
Bill & Tris hosted a Pre-Alaska BUZZ Party to celebrate before the big hunt.  The main attraction of the night : Haircuts.  To support the guys, all of the wives did the cuts/buzzes.
The 4 Amazing Wives (Or some would say 'crazy wives' for letting our husbands go on such an adventure!)
Let the buzzing begin!
I wasn't exactly a fan of Trav's decision, but I understood why he wanted to do it & supported him.
My hands were shaking as the hair was falling!
Well... He is ready for Alaska!
The guys loved Trav's soft head.
Alaska,  Here comes trouble!
Going Out with My Boots On!
Travis and I decided to hit the town - Kansas Style
with our friends Brian & Lindsey - at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill!
Toby Keith's Lyrics: "And we like to drink beer from a mason jar - I love this bar."
I really did go out with my boots on! :)
Cute couples!
We all enjoyed Country Two-Steppin
...I LOVE THIS BAR.
Labor Day
Travis & I hosted a family lunch for Labor Day!
Travis helped clean the house, while I cooked - what a hubby!
We had a wonderful afternoon with the rents & siblings.
~
Of course I had to make one of my favorite dessert recipes: Sugar Cookie Fruit Tarts.
I decided to make a bite size version this time & they turned out adorable &  delicious!
Random Thought :
A client of Travis' gave us a basket of candy as a thank you, so we shared it with the family.
One of the items within was the Tootsie Pop.   I hadn't had one in years, but when I opened it up and found my STAR - I was ecstatic! (It's the little things in life!)
HAPPY LABOR DAY EVERYONE!
:)
Steel Magnolias- ABT
Travis & I joined Mom & Dad at the last show of the 6th Season at Arizona Broadway Theatre.  The show was 'Steel Magnolias'.  We had a great time together, but it turned out to be our least favorite show.
(It was an all-women cast of 5, there was no music & the story ends sad! - No Bueno!)
Barbie & Ken's Wedding
A friend of mine sent me a link to
'Barbie & Ken's Imaginary Wedding'.
After looking at it - I thought it would be fun to compare some of my wedding photos to theirs. haha
Getting ready with the Bridesmaids.
Week 5 : 52 Weeks of Awesomeness
Week 5 : Sports
Camera: Canon 40D | Lens: Canon 50mm f/1.8
Shutter Speed: 1/60 | Aperture: 1.8
ISO: 800 | Processing: iPhoto
I am a soccer lover - born & raised!
When I hear the word 'Sports'... Soccer is the first idea that comes to mind.
Travis and I have this special nightly ritual, we watch Sports Center's - Top 10 Plays of the day, together before we go to bed. Travis has informed me that whenever a soccer play makes it onto the top ten, I stop what I am doing and always take it upon myself to explain to him how amazing the play was. I could watch a basketball player dunk over a car, and I would still think whatever that soccer player did... was the best! - hehe.
What can I say... Soccer is the best Sport!
Week 4 : 52 Weeks of Awesomeness
Week 4 : Your Name
Camera: Canon 40D | Lens: Canon 50mm f/1.8
Shutter Speed: 1/250 | Aperture: 2.5
ISO: 800 | Processing: iPhoto
For this week's entry I had to do something creative with my name. I thought about utilizing my initials... but I felt like that was too cliche.
Her is the objective form of the pronoun she in Modern English. - Thank you, Wickipedia.
I decided to place 'Her's' is in focus to resemble me!
