February 21: I started experiencing extremely sharp pains on the right side of my stomach and back while I was driving home on the freeway at 3pm. At 5:30pm my mom came over and found me still crying in pain on the couch. She made me contact my doctor-on-call to verify my symptoms and the severity of the situation. After speaking with my doctor she recommended that I visit the OB Triage at the hospital incase I was experiencing another kidney infection/stone. My mom and I picked up Trav at the gym and made it in by 7pm. After 3 hours in the hospital we found out that the baby was completely okay with a strong heartbeat of 140, I wasn't having early contractions, or kidney/appendix problems; but instead i was experiencing severe ligament stretching. Since I was just about 18 weeks pregnant our baby is doubling in size and this can cause ligament stretching in the abdomen. However, my sharp pains and inability to stand straight up were due to the baby pushing too hard on my round ligament and uterus causing severe stretching at one time. The bummer about this outcome was that there wasn't much they can do to relieve the pain. I was put on 24 hours of pain meds to control the sharp, dagger pains, with the hope of them subsiding soon. I was told to lay low for a few days and not to make any quick sharp body movements that could bring back the pains.

Yes, it has been a horrific couple of days, but the end result is a major blessing... no surgeries or problems specifically for the baby! Now my goal is to recover and relax, which is a lot easier to do knowing God is by my side!
